Recently we’ve been doing some France-themed play, and to support this, we got Usborne’s Listen and Learn First French Words from our local library.
I’m back with another ‘Brilliant Books’! This time I’m featuring a recent loan from our local library which has really appealed to T’s sense of humour. There’s a Dinosaur in my Bathtub is a whimsical tale about a girl named Amelia and the dinosaur who has come to stay for the summer. The book begins […]
Hands up if you read this book as a child! My husband and I came across it at a jumble sale and we both had fond memories of enjoying it as kids, so we picked it up for T. A few months later we discovered another copy at my parents house! We really love this book […]
I can’t remember where I first saw Peck, Peck, Peck or whether it was recommended to me by someone. I’ve had it on T’s Amazon wish list for quite a while, and recently her grandparents bought it for her. It has quickly become a family favourite! It tells the story of a young woodpecker who has […]
It’s so easy to get stuck trying to think of ideas for your children at Christmas. While enjoyment is obviously the key thing I’m looking for when finding gifts for T, I do have a few other criteria… Longevity. Most of the toys T has received since her first birthday are things that will last. […]
As I’ve said many times before, we love going to the library and are very lucky to have one just at the end of our road, which we can visit regularly. While there are always going to be the books T begs me to read which I wish had never been written (a certain Princess […]
The human body – a weird and wonderful thing! Recently T has become very interested in her body and how it works. We’ve been doing a few related activities but I wanted to find a couple of books from the library which would enable me to discuss a bit more with her. There are quite […]
Recently, we went to see The Tiger Who Came to Tea at the theatre. T already loved this story but this added a new dimension. After seeing our (frankly brilliant) tiger impressions, T’s auntie suggested we should put on a show of our own – and I decided that is exactly what we would do! […]
We are certified book-lovers in our house! All of us enjoy reading and T and I are regular visitors at our local library. I’m lucky that she enjoys listening to stories because I enjoy reading them, especially doing all of the voices! I thought I’d start to write some reviews of some our favourites.
Recently I asked T what her favourite story is, and she informed me it was The Three Billy Goats Gruff. I expect this has changed now, as she’s two and her opinions on what she likes and dislikes are about as reliable as this lovely summer weather we’ve been having in the UK this year. […]
